Proceeds from the sale of this book help fund the donation of our specially designed children’s books to barbershops in at-risk communities nationwide. DERT’s social mission is to ensure that all children identify as readers by having access to books and being read to on a regular basis. Reading together is vital for all children through their preschool years and beyond. Kenneth Grahame’s classic children’s novel The Wind in the Willows has been redesigned by Sage Smith, a graphic design student from Brooklyn, New York.

 

This 264-page paperback is part of a social venture project to spread literacy to families in underserved communities. DERT works with emerging designers to create unique, customized books. Each DERT book features the design and conceptual artwork created by graphic design students. With each purchase, proceeds from the sale are donated to help support the cause of early childhood literacy.
