Blue & Green

$15.99

Blue and Green is one of Virginia Woolf’s most experimental yet beautifully contemplative short stories. With little focus on narrative, Woolf sets out to capture the essence of color through the written language.

Proceeds from the sale of this book help fund the donation of our specially designed children’s books to barbershops in at-risk communities nationwide. DERT’s social mission is to ensure that all children identify as readers by having access to books and being read to on a regular basis. Reading together is vital for all children through their preschool years and beyond. DERT publishes a unique line of books and learning tools designed to engage families in reading through all stages of life.

Description

This DERT book was designed by Amanda Zaldivar, a communication design student from Wilmington, North Carolina.  Her design concept for Blue & Green has a strong focus on text and color to echo the original objective: to express the aura of color through the written word. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book goes to the designer in support of their career advancement.

This 46-page paperback is part of a social venture project to raise money for literacy charities. DERT works with emerging designers to create unique, customized books. Each DERT book features the design and conceptual artwork created by graphic design students. With your purchase all profits from the sale will be donated to The Parent-Child Home Program.
